Best Concert Photos of 2004!
2004 marks the year I decided to take a more creative approach to my photography. Of all my interests, photography has remained the most consistant. With the onset of the scarry occurance of a day job in my life I will admit the volume of my concert photography has dropped off a little, while on the flipside it has meant a more serious investment in equipment and hopefully quality. This year the selection has been narrowed down to the 15 images that speak the most to me. Here they are, hope you enjoy.
Photograph Details:
-
Crowd surfer at Edgefest 2004 - This year's Edgefest was the highlight of my photographic career. Big names, interesting people and lots of energy made it an event to remember.
-
Marianna of Johnny Reliable strikes a pose - I feel this shot really captured the moment. The composition could have been better but I like this shot none the less.
-
Sid Goldsmith at Edgefest - A lucky shot of Upside singer Sid Goldsmith at Edgefest 2004. I fell this captured a small part of the devotion that Sid presents with his lyrics.
-
Todd Lewis at Edgefest 2004 - Former Toadies frontman Todd Lewis singing his heart out as he does at every Burden Brothers show.
-
Todd Lewis again - This is one of my favorite shots of the year. The way the angles lead you through the picture, soft, almost faded colors, blur of the background and raw emotion all go into making this a striking photo.
-
Upside Video Shoot - Taken at the Upside music video shoot for "The Way I Dream". I like this shot for a number of reasons. The pose truely captures a rare moment with members of Upside and The Feds together on stage each in their own moment and the faces clearly visible. The stage lights and crowd's hands in the frame complete the picture.
-
Bageyes at Freakers Ball - While a bit dark, I feel this captures the escense of what we know as Bageyes.
-
Andy Callis at Freakers Ball - Andy Callis of TRB plays their CD release at Venue 216. I like the composition of this shot with the blurred guitar headstock and emotion that shows in Andy's face.
-
Day by Day - Simple shot of the Day by Day lead singer with lots of emotion.
-
Tony Romanello - Tony, doing what he does best.
-
Velvet Revolver at Edgefest 2004 - Former STP frontman Scott Weiland in one of an array of costumes worn during the show.
-
Scott Weiland part 2 - I really like the pose and moment captured.
-
Slash and Duff - Former Guns 'n' Roses Slash and Duff captured together on stage.
-
Scott Weiland part 3 - My favorite Scott Weiland shot from the Velvet Revolver show. Perfect pose, nice lighting and the eyes really stand out.
-
Tony Romanello - The simplicity draws me into this photograph. Not too much confusion to draw you away and it's almost reminicent of a movie scene with the panoramic wide screen feel.
