Seether at The Edge 102.1 Weenie Roast (Grand Prairie, TX) July 7th 2005. Nokia Live Theater.

Seether headlined the first annual Edge 102.1 Weenie Roast in Grand Prairie (Dallas) Texas. Along with Seether, other acts included Crossfade, Skindred, Supercell and Dark New Day.

I had a special opportunity to cover the Edge Weenie Roast in Dallas this week while working on a project for Seether's drummer John Humphrey. The event amounted to a hard core all night festival of rock and roll mayhem.

Dark New Day opened the show with an all out energetic performance. Rising stars Supercell provided great entertainment and gained some new followers which will bode well for them in the future. Skindred put on quite a show with their unique style, definitely worth checking out if you get a chance. Crossfade opened their act with the Dukes of Hazard theme song which got the crowd going, the performance of the songs Cold, Colors and So Far Away really got the audience into the show.

Finally Seether hit the stage with a vengeance giving the crowd what they were looking for, a powerful and dramatic musical experience. From hard hitting songs like Remedy and ballads like Fine Again to classics like Gasoline the crowd was singing along all the way. Seether also paid tribute to Dave Williams and Dime Bag Darrel along with the people involved in the London tragedy which happened earlier in the day.

One thing is for sure, there will be more Weenie Roasts to come.
