Now on to the review:
Right off the bat, the first song to really grab me was Dirty Hands; the song really pulls you in with its powerful chording and switch-ups, guitarist Ben Mosier really hit it on this one, it's my favorite on the album hands down (pardon the pun). The Addiction is a heavy hitting song about, You guessed it, Addiction. The lyrics speak volumes: "This addiction contradicts the picture in my head, but in the end it’s everything I am." On to September, which is yet another great song with excellent drive and passion, this one is lyrically interesting too; take this quote for instance "It's easier than facing down your self inflicted situation, suffocating your own creation". Next we have Gliding on Ice which is an excellent power ballad that slows things down a bit with a mellower feel before we picks the pace back up. Something More brings on the hard rock and melodies once again. Reflect is another excellent song worthy of being a single, Ben Mosier's guitar and Sid Goldsmith's vocals play off each other very well and the song flows nicely. Ashes of our disaster give us a bit of a break as relaxing acoustic love ballad with outstanding "like you're there" clarity. Finally, The End sounds more like the beginning with its full on, fast paced, heavy metal assault on the senses. In the end you really need to buy this CD. Upside is:
